Ukraine had threshed 34.6 million tonnes of grain and pulses from 7.9 million hectares by 17 August 2026, representing 61.2% of planned area. Average yield reached 4.38 tonnes per hectare, up from 4.3 tonnes per hectare the previous week.
Wheat harvest was 23.82 million tonnes from 94.1% of the area, while barley output reached 6.24 million tonnes from 96.7%. Farmers had also harvested 779,000 tonnes of peas and 3.76 million tonnes of rapeseed, covering 98.8% and 99% of the respective areas. Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad accounted for 32% of the harvested grain.
Ukraine exported 2.952 million tonnes of grain and pulses in the 2026/27 marketing year through 12 August, including 280,000 tonnes in August. This compares with 2.818 million tonnes by 15 August last year, when August exports had already reached 1.153 million tonnes. Current shipments comprised 1.239 million tonnes of wheat, 333,000 tonnes of barley and 1.376 million tonnes of corn.
The combination of near-complete early-crop harvesting and sharply slower August exports is relevant for Black Sea supply planning, although future availability will also depend on corn, soybean and sunflower harvests.
