Ukraine Extends Export Settlement Deadline for Agricultural Products to 150 Days

Ukraine’s National Bank (NBU) has temporarily extended the maximum payment period for exports of selected agricultural products from 120 to 150 days. The measure was adopted under Resolution No. 97 on August 25, 2026, entered into force on August 26, and applies to export transactions conducted from July 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027.

The extension covers grain and oilseed crops, processed products and vegetable oils. The NBU said the decision reflects longer delivery and settlement periods caused by restrictions on maritime exports following Russian attacks on port infrastructure and civilian vessels. Ukrainian exporters have increasingly had to use alternative routes, adding time and complexity to physical movements.

For traders, the change reduces the risk that exporters breach Ukraine’s foreign-exchange settlement requirements while cargoes move through alternative maritime, Danube, rail and road channels. It may support the continuity of Ukrainian wheat, corn, oilseed and vegetable-oil exports, although the measure does not remove the underlying logistical and security constraints. The direct impact on prices and volumes remains uncertain.
